  To Raise the Bar and Awareness in the Importance of Technique. To provide playwrights, directors and actors opportunities through Technique Awareness, and Performance and Practice.  
     
  TheaterVision, a producing company, strives to provide maximum opportunity for theater artists and to stimulate desire to excel.

TheaterVision connects the success of the ‘culture of sports’ with the maximum opportunity of the playground.  The accessible playground, with many more doers, yields more high level players.  And the spectator base is enlarged and is more knowledgeable.
TheaterVision produces a variety of projects.
TheaterVision encourages chance-taking and experimentation.
Submissions are accepted year-round.

Project Submissions

Playwrights, directors and actors can submit (initiate) projects:

  • One Act Plays: (10-60 Minutes)
      Original one acts, adaptations, screenplays

  • Mini Musicals: (10-60 Minutes)
      Original, adaptations

  • Full Length Plays: (60-90 Minutes)
      Original, adaptations, Staged Readings,
      Full Productions (Limited Number)

  • Musicals: (60-90 Minutes) Prefer Non-Traditional
      Original, adaptations, staged readings,
      Full Productions (Limited Number)

  • Screen Plays: (60-90 Minutes)
      Staged Readings

Submission Requirements:

All plays submissions and proposals require a cover letter with playwright’s complete contact information; a brief synopsis and character breakdown and preferably sent via U.S. Mail to: Artistic Director, A.M. Raychel; TheaterVision/PlayTime:, 1133 Broadway, Suite 714 NY, NY 10010.

Submission fee for all plays is $25.00 (up to 60 pages). Submission fee for longer plays is $50.00 (61 pages or longer). Checks may be made payable to ‘TheaterVision.’ Be sure to note method of payment in all cover-letters. Response time is several days to several weeks per submission.

Short plays may be submitted via email to: playwright@theatervision-playtime.com subject line: “Complete Title of Play/Project.”

About TVP

TheaterVision/PlayTime – The short form.
Is an on-going year-round weekly series with emphasis on original one act plays
This format also allows excerpted or condensed versions of longer works (both original and classic).

PlayTime- The Classics: Each Month
The selected works of a specific playwright (Shakespeare, O’Neill, Chekhov, etc…) are presented over a one week period.

PlayTime – Themed Events:
  • The SportsComplex:
    The growth and development of the culture of sports continues, intensifying the interest of both doers and watchers.

  • Four Plays for Four Seasons:
    Develop by working ‘Four Seasons’ Presents an opportunity for theater artists to extend and plan personal work schedules. Insure a work schedule for a year by committing to one one-act play each season.

  • PlayTime International:
    In development. The PlayTime format is conducive to the global nexus. Original language submissions encouraged (accompanied by certified English translation).


Refund Policy
All ticket purchases to all shows are final. Play submission fees are non-refundable. The play performance schedule is subject to change. If you have purchased a ticket for the wrong show, please call TheaterMania at (212) 352-3101 to ask if they may help you apply it to the correct show. Class registration fees are non-refundable. A.M. Raychel, founder and Producing/Artistic Director of TheaterVision/PlayTime, is a New York City based director/teacher.
  • Insists that actors have both improv skills along with structured technique (Meisner/Hagen).
  • Has directed over 120 full-length plays in NYC
  • Likes to re-work signature plays and signature playwrights: Elliot; Odets; Brecht; Shakespeare; Chekhov; Fassbinder; Frisch; Strindberg; O’Neill; Inge; Williams; Poe; Colton; Hellman; Musil; Fitzgerald; Gilbert; Sheppard; Higham; Sater; Fratti; Yehoshua; Bauer; Zindell; Purdy; Hammer;

  • Has taught for over two decades at New York University; The New School; Baruch College; Eugene O’Neill National Theater Institute; PS 59; is a lecturer-consultant in theater for public schools (New Jersey, Connecticut and New York) including National Theatre for the Deaf and presently holds TheaterVision Master Classes
  • Marquette University, B.S. Drama; NY Institute of Technology, Television Commercial Production; Acting—AADA, HB Studio, Directing—The Strasberg Institute.
